By entering the Malaysian market, M.A.i is continuing its dynamic expansion in Asia. This strategic decision gives the company access to one of the fastest growing economic areas in Southeast Asia. The new location will enable M.A.i to respond even more flexibly to the needs of local and regional customers and further strengthen its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

Reaching the 600-employee mark impressively underlines M.A.i’s continued growth and global attractiveness as an employer. This development testifies to the successful implementation of the internationalization strategy and the confidence in the company’s innovative strength.

EXPANSION AND ANNIVERSARY

In 2024, M.A.i set a clear signal for growth and a future-oriented focus. This was underpinned by the doubling of the production area at the Kronach/Neuses site, which not only created increased production capacity but also enabled the implementation of innovative production concepts. This investment underlines M.A.i’s commitment to the region and lays the foundation for the next phase of the company’s development. A special highlight was the celebration of the company’s 25th anniversary, to which over 400 guests – including employees, political representatives and international customers – were invited. The ceremony, which was accompanied by music and concluded with a fireworks display, paid tribute to the successes of the past years and the importance of the company for the region and its global clientele. These milestones in 2024 underline M.A.i’s continuous growth, strong regional ties and consistent global focus.

EXPANSION TO MEXICO

The move into Mexico marks M.A.i’s entry into the North American market and underlines the company’s ambitious growth strategy. This expansion not only opens up new business opportunities, but also strengthens the ability to serve customers on the American continent directly. The significant increase in the number of employees to 420 reflects the continued confidence in M.A.i’s innovative strength and future viability.

EXPANSION IN ASIA

M.A.i’s expansion in China is bearing fruit: with three strategic locations in Ningbo, Nanjing and Suzhou, the company is consolidating its presence in the Chinese market. The growing workforce, particularly in Nanjing, underlines the success of the global strategy. This targeted internationalization optimizes local customer service and strengthens M.A.i’s competitiveness on the global market.

PROMOTION OF YOUNG TALENT

With the opening of the training center, M.A.i is underlining its commitment to promoting young talent and securing qualified specialists. This investment in training not only strengthens the company, but also contributes to the future viability of the entire region.

EXPANSION IN THE ASIAN MARKET

With the founding of the subsidiary in Ningbo near Shanghai, the expansion of production to automation systems in China and the growth of the global workforce to 190 employees, M.A.i marked its entry into the global market and laid the foundation for a strong international presence, particularly in the important Chinese market

RELOCATION TO THE NEW HEADQUARTERS

M.A.i experienced a significant upswing with the move to the former Valeo plant in Kronach/Neuses, which marked the beginning of a new era. The workforce increased to 140 employees and the production area tripled. The festive inauguration of the new plant with 450 guests underlined the company’s growth and plans for the future.

GROWTH AND INNOVATION

In 2005, M.A.i GmbH & Co. KG reached a significant milestone in its company history. The company recorded considerable growth and significantly expanded its capacities. The workforce grew to 80 employees, reflecting the positive development and success of the company. At the same time, the production area was expanded to an impressive 2,000 m², integrating a new assembly area with an indoor crane. This expansion enabled M.A.i to realize larger and more complex projects. A particular technological advance was the installation of a new central cooling system, which allowed the company to simultaneously commission five injection molding machines and carry out acceptance runs. These investments in infrastructure and technology underscored M.A.i’s commitment to innovation and growth in the automation industry and laid the foundation for the company’s continued expansion

COMPANY FOUNDATION

M.A.i GmbH & Co. KG was born in 1999 in the tranquil community of Küps/Upper Franconia. With a handful of 20 dedicated employees and under the leadership of three visionary managing directors – Jürgen Hoffmann, Rainer Knaak and Arthur Schwab – the young company set out to fundamentally change the automation industry.

It was clear from the outset that this was no ordinary company. The founders had set themselves the goal of rethinking and reshaping the automation industry from the ground up. With their clear vision of developing pioneering and future-oriented automation systems, they laid the foundations for a success story.
